1) City & County

City planning commission: new auto-detailing shop got the green light. In a May 21 meeting, the Planning Commission approved a conditional use permit for Premier Auto Protection Studio, a new auto protection/detailing business. If someone wants to challenge that decision, it can be appealed to City Council.

City Council: downtown angled parking is moving forward. At the May 12 City Council meeting, council voted to let the Downtown Economic Development Team add angled parking on the south side of Main Street between S. Boise Ave. and S. Hayes Ave.

2) Schools

School year wrap-up is coming fast. The district calendar lists Thursday, June 4 as the last day of school.

Circus is coming to town Sunday. The Chamber calendar lists the Culpepper & Merriweather Circus for Sunday, May 31.

Cherry Festival “kick-off” is on the calendar. The Chamber calendar lists a Cherry Festival Kick-Off on Saturday, June 6.

Ribbon cutting: Eaton Glassworks. The Chamber calendar lists a ribbon cutting for Eaton Glassworks on Wednesday, June 3.
