Softball: Huskies Bounce Back to Open Conference Tournament With a Win
A tale of two days. The Emmett softball team got blown out by Skyview 11-1 on the road on Saturday, May 2. But on Wednesday in the conference tournament, the Huskies came back strong with a 6-1 win over Bishop Kelly at a neutral site — avenging a brutal 18-2 loss to Bishop Kelly two weeks earlier.
The win was paced by a strong all-around performance: 7 hits, just 1 error, and a complete-game effort on the mound from junior Oakley Scheibe, who pitched the entire game herself.
Emmett finishes the regular season at 7-13 overall, 5-9 in conference. With the Bishop Kelly win, the Huskies stay alive in the conference tournament. State playoff implications depend on how the rest of the bracket plays out.
