It's Been a Minute!

The email's masthead reads "Drew's Letter" and "peruse Drew's news." The words "news" and "letter" are both orange and placed so that one can read the word "newsletter."

Hi folks!

Happy ADHD Awareness month! Possibly I forgot to write a newsletter for a few weeks. Because of the…

Um.

LOOK! NEWS!

ADHD Awareness Month Itch Bundle
For the next two weeks, A Dark Hole Darkly will be part of an ADHD Awareness Month-themed bundle on Itch*.

(*Itch is a website that sells indie video games and ebooks.)

So if you however-impossibly haven’t bought a copy of Darkly yet, you can grab the ebook along with twenty-some other ADHD-authored and/or themed titles for just $25.

Covers for the 22 Books included in this Itch bundle. Header reads "22 Books | ADHD Awareness Month Fiction | by Mostly ADHD Authors Most with 1+ Significant ADHD character(s) | Oct 1st-15th". Covers are small, so probably best to click through to view the full list, but my book is right there in the middle.
Participating Titles

The bundle is available October 1st through 15th.

Fall 2025 Delaware Author Fair
Then on October 26th, I’ll be at the Delaware Author Fair in Wilmington.

This’ll be my first in-person appearance in a while, so I am super anxious/excited/nervous/peeing-slightly.

Maybe not that last thing. That was weird.

Unless…?

Tan Flyer with a handwritten/hand-drawn aesthetic reads "Fall 2025 Delaware Author's Fair" "Huxley & Hiro" [bookstore sponsoring event] "Sunday October 26th" "The Queen Theater" "Wilmington Delaware" "Early Access $10 (11-12) comes with sticker and poster print" [presumably of this flyer???] "12-3pm $5" Pictured: green cat with glasses and a pumpkin and fox with an eyepatch and coffee mug with leaves falling.
Author Fair Details

Unless you’re reading this while I just happen to be in the bathroom! In which case… Yeah. See? I fixed it.

Totally not weird now.

Come meet me and/or tell other people to meet me BECAUSE. I. AM. SO. NORMAL.

Happy ADHD Awareness Month!!!

…

…

Oh. Right.

That seemed like a good note to end things on, but I actually wanted to mention two other things:

One Other Thing: Book Fair Prep
Only a few weeks till the Book Fair, so OF COURSE I’m scrambling to get ready. I have books on order. I bought a wire rack. I made sure my Venmo is… sufficiently… Venmo-ey?

Still have to figure out signage, but right now I’m focused on giveaways, which will (if I get everything done in time?) include bookmarks themed to each of my books!

Here’s a peak at one (maybe not 100% finished?) for Percival Gynt and the Inevitability of Fire and Other Cases:

Bookmark background has fire fading into darkness above and reads "Perhaps, he though, a thing that's already broken cannot break. More than anything, he hoped that was true." plus logo for Percival Gynt and the Inevitability of Fire and Other Cases and the website drewmelbourne.com.
Preliminary, but also probably it will look like this

I have a feeling that this bookmark may display Kaiju-style, full-width and super-big in your email.

If so: Oops.

The finished version will be… y’know… bookmark-sized.

Second Other Thing: Ghost & Zombie
I’m still going to be talking around this for a little while longer (for reasons that will maybe become clear if/when you finish reading A Dark Hole Darkly), but I figured I should probably start talking about my next book/the thing I’m currently working on/the thing that is DEFINITELY NOT a sequel to A Dark Hole Darkly:

LOGO "Ghost & Zombie" on a beige background. "Ghost" is in a semi-transparent spooky font and "Zombie" is in a grizzly green font.
In 2026

If you’ve finished A Dark Hole Darkly, you may have already discovered the first few pages of this, included as an excerpt in the back.

If you HAVEN’T finished A Dark Hole Darkly, don’t just jump to the back to read the excerpt now. Save it till you’ve finished Darkly.

Because reasons.

But. If you haven’t gotten there yet, here’s the quick teaser. The tagline:

HE WAS THE LOVE OF HER LIFE.

NOW SHE IS THE LOVE OF THEIR DEATH.

That’s right. It’s a classic tale of “Boy Meets Girl. Boy Dies. Boy Comes Back as a Zombie. Also, as a Ghost.”

More to come.
