I mentioned that I’m neurodivergent. Specifically I have inattentive-type ADHD (diagnosed) and maybe a sprinkling of autism (entirely speculative). Why do I call that out when introducing myself?

I grew up not understanding what the deal was with how my brain worked, and that led to a lot of anxiety and depression and (for one particular semester of college in particular) minesweeper. I was only properly diagnosed with ADHD a few years ago and it’s really been a game-changer, in terms of self-awareness/acceptance/care/management.

All of my work is infused with the idiosyncratic way I view and experience the world, but nowhere more so than my upcoming (?) novel A Dark Hole Darkly, where that subtext becomes text! More on that in the regular newsletter.

At the absolute minimum, you should expect updates once or twice a year, ahead of book releases. Hopefully you’ll be hearing from me more often, with updates on my writing, interesting digressions about my process, bad dad jokes (the jokes are good, the dads are bad), and some fun bonus content.

For example: Alongside the release of Percival Gynt and the Inevitability of Fire, we’ll be doing (or did***?) a playthrough of the “choose your own adventure”-style central novella, with readers voting on which choice to make.
