#84 - Exploring human and machine collaboration

Hello! 👋

This week’s projects gave me a lot of food for thought and I hope you’ll like them too!

Enjoy! 💚

Projects

The Crochet Protocol

A project combining crocheting and code, and exploring the idea of turning an activity usually regarded as a handcraft, into one where humans would follow machine instructions. Using a wearable bracelet signaling the next instruction to the wearer via vibrations, this project looks into the scenario of a machine in need of human labor.

SPIN: AI-Music synthesizer

This project allows you to co-create compositions with MusicGen and celebrates the marriage between human and machine creativity through music.

Alternative clock

What if we created alternative temporal systems to meet the changing needs of society? The same way that different maps are available for different purposes, the same could be done with time. Imagining a new type of clock could offer a unique perspective on the world.

Interface

Interface explores how adding nature-inspired senses can extend humans’ perception of reality. Masks embedded with different sensors enable us to embody the way other creatures perceive the world.

Events

XOXO videos

I didn’t get to go to the XOXO festival this year but some of the talks have been uploaded to their website or you can also check out talks from previous years on their YouTube channel!
