As mentioned last week, I am working on parimutuel pool betting right now. This unlocks so much:

- Futures contest for any league made super simple
- Similar “pick the winner” contests for any number of events (Love Island, World Cup, whatever)
- Prediction contests that show or use relative odds for candidates

This last point is important. Suppose you want to do an Academy Awards contest with friends. Just having those “morning lines” for the major categories of Best Picture and the like can make people feel more informed for making their picks.

And of course, as I roll out things like “weight loss challenges” it should be easy to layer on a parimutuel right on top. Make it a spectator sport.

But the work remains for me to get this implemented. I made good strides last week, and I have a target of this coming weekend to release the initial version.
