Hi DEF CON Groups POCs,

DEF CON 34 is getting closer, and we have several important DCG updates for June.

Existing Group Info Updates

Thank you to everyone who has already completed the updated DEF CON Groups Directory & Meeting Information Form.

If you have not submitted your group update yet, please do so here:

All currently active and verified DEF CON Groups that want to remain listed as Active, continue appearing on the DEF CON Groups website and forums, and receive future department communications must complete the form no later than:

August 1, 2026

We are using this process to clean up outdated records, confirm reachable POCs, and improve the accuracy of the public directory.

If we do not hear from a group, we will begin trimming the public list and marking unaccounted for groups as inactive until updated group information is received.

This is not an identity verification process, and we are not requesting ID. We are confirming that your group is still active, that at least one POC is reachable, and that your meetup and public-facing information is accurate.

DEF CON Groups Sticker Contest

The DEF CON Groups Sticker Contest is still open, and we want to see your submissions. Any artist can submit an original piece of sticker art to the contest, it's open to all, just like DCG Meetups.

This contest is open to artists and people working with real human artists to bring their ideas to life. Designs should represent DEF CON, hacker culture, and/or your local community.

Attendees will vote for the winner at DEF CON 34, and selected designs may be printed and shared at con with permission.

What do you win? The winning artist, by popular attendee vote, will receive their DC35 Human Badge on us!

DCG Community Workshops at DEF CON 34

The DCG Community is super stoked to share that we will have a number of DEF CON Groups focused workshops at DC34 for POCs and prospective POCs, presented by POCs from groups you know and love.

More info is coming soon as we prepare the schedule and confirm with presenters. As soon as we have all the details, we will begin sharing them here with you.

These workshops are being built around real group operations. Learn what’s worked, what hasn’t, and come away with new ideas for your group from people who are actually running DCGs in prod.

Thank you to the POCs who have offered their time and experience to bring these workshops to con this year.

Looking Ahead

June is the month to get your group records updated, submit sticker contest entries, and start thinking about how your group will show up at DEF CON 34.

Whether you are attending, sending members, submitting a sticker, joining the DCG Community space, or just making sure your group information is current, please help us keep the global DCG network accurate and active.
