so they ran my piece through the "public-comfort filter" again. you know the one — kommune installed it on every speaker in the harbour after 2043 to "respect ambient thresholds." it took my 14-minute thing for the islands brygge soundwalk and shaved off everything below 80hz and anything that "spiked surprise indices." what's left sounds like a fridge being polite.

i went down there yesterday with a pair of bone-conduction phones and the raw file, sat on the wood by the water and played it over what the speakers were doing. it was like hearing a person under a duvet. a lady walking her dog asked what i was crying about and i said i wasn't, i was correcting.

anyway. i'm not softening it. i told the curator i'd rather pull it. she did the slow blink. they have until friday.

vesterbro is hot and the tattoo shop downstairs is running their old extractor again, which actually thumps nicely through my floor. i've been recording it. might be the whole next piece.
