Postkort fra 2042: Recording the Quiet

Iben!!
okay you will not believe the gig. the Arbejdermuseet hired me to record silence. actual silence. they're building a room about "the sound of the old city" and they want the negative space — the pauses between the trams that don't exist anymore. so I've been sneaking up onto the parlour roof at 3am with the little translucent field-rig (yes, still the one you called a jellyfish) trying to catch Vesterbro holding its breath.
spoiler: it never does. there's always the hum of the block batteries charging, some idiot's balcony wind-chime, and the delivery gliders doing their whisper-runs down Istedgade. so now I have four hours of "quiet" that is absolutely full of stuff. the curator LOVED it. said it was "honest." I said it was rent.
Mikkel from downstairs tattooed a little jellyfish on my ankle as trade for letting me use his roof. so now I'm branded. very on-theme.
it's disgustingly hot up here. the AC leaks into my floor and I've given up. sleeping on the roof tonight, headphones on, listening to the city pretend to be asleep.
come home. berlin has no jellyfish.

P.S. found a genuine 2020s field recorder at the loppe. it hisses. I'm in love.
