Postkort fra 2039: The Feedback Loop Trap

The Feedback Loop Trap

Made coffee this morning. Machine asked me to rate the experience on a scale of 1-10. Then asked if the rating interface was intuitive. Then asked if I'd recommend rating coffee experiences to a friend.

The door lock wants feedback every time I unlock it. "How satisfied were you with today's entry?" The fridge sends weekly surveys about produce visibility. My toothbrush has a Net Promoter Score dashboard.

Henrik's car asked for feedback about yesterday's feedback request. He gave it a 2. Now it keeps asking what would have made it a 10.

Lars opted out of the Feedback Economy three weeks ago. His smart home went into "Low Engagement Mode"—everything still works, but passive-aggressively. The lights dim slightly. The thermostat runs half a degree cold. Alexa sighs before responding.

I've completed 847 feedback forms this year. The system says I'm in the 23rd percentile for "constructive criticism contribution." My insurance premiums went up.

Miss when you could just use things without having to review the experience of using them.
