More Art and Game Jam

Hello everyone! This past month, I’ve been focusing on putting together the studio company structure and learning about all the fun things you need to do to make that work.

I also participated in a game jam that just wrapped up. It’s all about jury duty! But more fun. You can play “Cut to the Case” if you have Windows.

Back to Damfool Games: a few months ago, I shared three pieces of art for the Concept Trailer. The Wares had just suffered a serious defeat, leaving one of their team in critical condition. Below are the next three pieces of the story.

Thanks for reading!

The fourth piece of concept art has The Wares at a hospital, following their battle with the evil mage and creatures. They are nervously waiting in the operating hall as the severely injured Sniper is in surgery. The Heavy is pacing, the Tactician is downcast, and the Quick is venting her anger at the Tactician’s failings. Post battle consequences (negative and positive) for your teammates and your own player are mechanics I’m aiming to implement in the game.

The fifth piece of concept art shows the team recuperating at their safehouse/base. The Tactician is projecting a tactical map via their unique magic talent and discussing battle strategies with the Heavy and the Quick. In the background there is a sniper rifle that is being modified with some kind of magic ink. This mixing of magic and guns will give players more options in combat.

The sixth piece of concept art is set at the start of a new battle. In this fight The Wares are showing more coordination and less hesitation. The Quick and Heavy have paired up and are charging towards the enemy Witch. Meanwhile the Tactician has generated a tactical map and is communicating strategy to the team. A fourth figure is perched on the edge of a nearby roof. A core feature of the game is giving players the opportunity to approach these fights in the way they want.
