Hello everyone! No new gameplay from this past month. I’m working on getting a playtest together by the end of June. If you have any interest in playtesting the game then shoot me a text, email, discord dm, or look out for the form I’ll be including in the next newsletter.

For this update I’m going to share a few of the early concept art pieces for the Concept Trailer along with descriptions. The Concept Trailer is a series of scenes that would make up a possible trailer for the game. This is to give people an idea of the game’s look, feel, story, and how it might play. It also serves as a north star for development.

The first piece introduces The Wares (from left to right): the Tactician, the Sniper, the Leader, and the Quick. The Wares have taken to the battlefield for the first time as a team, going up against an evil mage and his thrall-creatures. The evil mage prepares to attack and his creatures approach. The Tactician is attempting to communicate with the team, while the Sniper and Leader both begin attacking. The Quick is listening to the Tactician and taking in the scene, but hasn’t engaged yet.

The second piece of concept art continues the battle from the first piece. The Wares are in a dire situation: the creatures have closed the distance and are attacking while the evil mage has unleashed a concentrated magic beam of fire. This beam is striking along the Sniper’s right side, causing tremendous damage. The other Wares are shooting and attacking the creatures, but don’t seem to be having much of an impact on the beasts.

The third piece of concept art is of the end of the battle. An older, stronger group of mages called the Keepers have shown up and saved the Wares. In the background they are seen cleaning up the enemy mage and monster minions. The foreground shows a healer trying to stabilize the severely injured Sniper on the ground. The rest of the Wares, sporting their own injuries, look on in despair. The Tactician and the caped mage exchange an acrimonious look.
