Hello friends!
Don’t you just love fond remembrances? Looking out the window, a soft smile on your face, as you are struck by the memory of a great moment from an earlier time? I live for it. Just the other day I was riding the bus, at night, rain on the window, forehead on the glass, struck by a memory of how good CYBERDOOM was, overcome by soft, cerebral, romantic reverie. I live for this stuff.

It of course is not the same as being there, but the sets are still incredible. Good music to clean the house to, or to run in a straight line EXTREMELY fast.
Even better than remembrances, though, I find, are being invited to NEW parties with friends. So I am doubly excited to invite you to the upcoming SQUIZZFEST - Beach Party Edition!
Squizzfest is a huge multi-day music festival, run by our friend 5QRL, that brings together the best electronic musicians across Twitch and the digital world. This will be the 4th year they’ve hosted a part of the festival on Cyberdoof, and every time it is a big and bold fantasia of doof extremes. I’m tripping over my words, so I’ll let 5QRL explain it better:
“It’s kind of like when someone hands you an address and says ‘party tonight, you should come’, but you’ve never met that person before and they vanish before you look up. You decide to go and the next thing you remember is waking up on a stranger’s couch with a massive hangover and flashbacks of the best night of your life.”
I think that sums it up quite well!
So come on out, 22 August, so you can add another tile to the dance floor inside your memory palace. More details in “upcoming doofs” below!

Local champions! One of my favourite musical instruments is the cardboard baling machine you find in supermarket warehouses. This song seems co-written with one of those machines, plus some beautiful melodies that make me feel like a swooping bird!! Ah, I just got the title!! I feel the title!!!!

This song puts me in such a good mood. It makes me feel extremely coool, but then has passages that I think my uncle would like, my uncle who collects sci-fi pulp anthologies and made me watch Garth Hudson keyboard solos as a kid so I would ‘understand genius’

Some songs make your hips shake. And some songs send a specific tingle from the base of your neck to the crown of your head with such direct pleasure that it feels illicit. You gotta have both kinds of songs!!! This is the latter.
Gidget’s Updates
This week we have been making development tools smoother and faster in a way that you likely won’t notice but you will feel.
We now have debug modes in Gidget’s Power Tools including crazy views like X-RAY and we made it so you can use Dev Tools without the whole thing crashing. We reduced the memory usage by like 10 — 10 times more efficient memory usage means you can get 10 times closer to the beat.
Upcoming Doofs
The biggest doof coming up is SQUIZZFEST!
Squizzfest is a multi-day affair, but the DOOF related party will start 22 August, around 11AM NZT. It’s going to be a summer getaway on a beautiful resort island. We can’t wait!
