Music makes the ppl come together
16 June 2026
Hello friends!
This week, I’m giving the mic to Boof! Don’t worry, we turned the volume down first.
I’ve rewatched the video from A Bug’s Doof 2 this weekend, having a dance in my kitchen and bopping along while I made cookies. Did you know that you can watch that and recordings from other old doofs on our YouTube channel? There’s lots of fun things on there, from old memories (CyberFest! We were such babies!) to unreleased DJ Doof Duck songs (that little guy sure can make loud sounds!). Have a look around this week!

BOOF’S CORNER
I LOVE MUSIC SO MUCH!!! SO MUCH THAT I TEND TO YELL ABOUT IT… but it would be assaulting if I talked as much as I want to about music in ALL CAPS!! You would be SO MAD!!! It would be TOO MUCH to DEAL WITH!!!! Ahem. Let me take my time…
9entle - One Thing - have you heard of the Swedish legends, jj? If you have PLS reply to this newsletter. I loved them a lot, and 9entle is Elin Kastlander from jj and other Swedish legend Henning Fürst and also Alexander Havelda who I have never heard of. It makes me nostalgic to hear Elin Kastlander's voice again and the lyric "if I could change one thing, I'd probably change my life" has such a good one-liner energy… like something Mitch Hedberg would say… but so casual, like something yr dreamy aunt would say not thinking it was funny.
Pyrolator - Im Zoo - This song feels like a primary school trip to the zoo, and I don’t know anybody because I’m new so I spend the entire time making eye contact with a tiger. One of my favourite things about the song (and the album) is that I can’t tell when it was made. 2013 on a laptop?? 1994 on an old desktop Apple??? Just the right amount of animal sounds 🐘
Dusky - Imagine What - IMAGINE THIS: we’re at the club, we’re having a great time, everyone feels really happy and comfortable and it’s because this song is playing (and probably because everyone is wearing comfortable loungewear, like by the not-yet-back-then-but-having-a-revival-now brand Juicy Couture). DJ Magazine voted Dusky the Best British Producers in 2013, and I see it baby!! I hear it!!! I can IMAGINE!!!!!
