New Year, New Me: 2023 Goals
Hi everyone! During the final week of my end-of-year vacation, I've been reflecting on what I did this year, thinking about my goals for 2023, and playing lots of videogames.
New year, new me: 2023 goals
As 2022 comes to a close, I've been looking back at my goals for this year and thinking about what I want to achieve in 2023. This is a rare week where I wrote something that didn't contain any secret information about my next game, so I posted it on my blog.

A secret goal that I didn't mention in the public blog post is that I also want to try and finish porting Chessplosion to a console later this year. Porting the online multiplayer is a lot of work, but I at least want to give it a try! So no guarantees, but I'll do my best.

Chessplosion is still 50% off in the Steam and itch winter sales!
The Steam and itch winter sales are still going, so there's still one week left to save 50% on Chessplosion on Steam and itch! Thank you to everyone who supported the game so far, either by buying the for themselves or gifting it to a friend.
Cool things I've seen while on vacation this week
- This music video by tobokegao isn't new, but I was recently thinking about it again. It's so good...
- This list of shmuplations' 2022 translations of old interviews with Japanese developers is fascinating! I'm still reading through all of them, but it's great to get insight into incredible games like Ketsui and Ace Attorney 3.
- I've been having fun with vgperson's English translation of Your Turn To Die, a Japanese indie adventure game by Nankidai in the same subgenre as Danganronpa and Zero Escape: The Nonary Games. I'm looking forward to picking up the commercial version of the game on Steam next month!
- I've been trying to clear Expert mode in Like Dreamer (warning: semi-NSFW art), a fun Japanese indie shooting game by Outside. The more I play shmups, the more I want to make one...
And that's all I've done this week. Thank you again for supporting my work, and next week I'm going to start working on my music skills so I can make my next game's soundtrack as good as it can possibly be.
