My games are in the Steam Sale! There's a new enemy too!
My games are on sale!
It's Autumn (or Spring, depending on where you live), so Black Friday sales are happening on all the big videogame platforms. As a result, you can save 50% on Chessplosion on Steam and itch, and save 20% on Ducky's Delivery Service on Steam, itch and Nintendo Switch. If you know anyone who has been waiting for a sale on either of those games, that time is now!
And if you know any good games that are on sale, let me know about those too! I've been playing the old Capcom arcade game Gun.Smoke for the past couple of weeks, but I'll have to find another game to play afterwards.
A new enemy!
The main thing I've added to my new game recently is a new enemy: a fire-breathing boar! Its purpose is to block off areas of the map to make it harder for you to run away from other enemies, and I love how it looks. Check it out here, along with some visual effects that I'm currently working on:
I haven't quite finished all of the visual effects; there's still a big red placeholder square that appears when an enemy hits a wall and explodes. But I love the way that everything else looks! I'm a big fan of these little boars with corgi proportions, the flames that they breathe, and the effects that appear when you hit things. It's one step closer to being a real game! That said, I've mostly been working on these things in a vacuum, so I'd love to know what you think of them too!
That's all I've done for these past two weeks, other than some improvements to my engine pipeline and some tiny improvements to the combat mechanics. Unfortunately I haven't been able to work as much as normal, but I'm happy with the look of the game regardless. Hopefully next time I'll have finished the remaining visual effects, and maybe even added another enemy. Have a great weekend, enjoy whatever games you end up getting in the sale, and I'll see you next time!
