Ducky's Delivery Service is releasing on July 20th!

Hello again! Wholesome Direct 2023 is happening on Saturday June 10 at 9am PT (12pm ET, 5pm BST and so on), and Ducky's Delivery Service is one of the games being shown there! I'm looking forward to a bunch of new people seeing the game for the first time. I think they're going to show the game's release date there, but I'll let you all know a few days in advance:

Ducky's Delivery Service is releasing on July 20th!

That's six weeks from today! I don't know if I'm technically allowed to reveal that date yet, so please don't tell anyone until Saturday haha. Anyway, we're on the final stretch. I'm really looking forward to getting the full game into players' hands!

Thankfully it doesn't look like I'm going to have to do any last minute crunching. I finished the rest of the game's music, and there are just a few more small changes that I want to make based on all the demo feedback.

The other big chunk of work that I need to do is to get the translated text into the game. Some of the translators have finished translating the game already, so this week I hooked up their work. I've translated the game's trailer and even its name and logo in some languages this time, unlike on Chessplosion. But thankfully it's not quite as much work as I feared it would be, and I'm happy with how it's turning out:

I finished making Chessplosion around an hour before it launched, so Ducky's Delivery Service already feels much less stressful to work on in comparison. Thank you for your patience!

More demo improvements

I also made a few more improvements to the demo:

There was some annoying extra blank space next to some of the keyboard key images (such as Shift) which made the tutorial look strange for keyboard players. It's gone now.

The arrow that points to your destination now gets a lot smaller and more greyed-out when your destination is further away, to make it a bit easier to tell when it's getting close:

You can now advance cutscene text with the OK and Cancel buttons, instead of just the OK button.

I made that last change as a result of testing out the game on a certain console with a handheld mode and docked mode. I'm happy to confirm that the full game is working on that console, and I plan on submitting it to the console manufacturer as soon as the rest of the translations are complete.

I have no idea how long that console's submission process takes, because this is my first time publishing a console game by myself. So there's a chance that it might not release at the exact same time as the PC version, but I hope I can at least release it very close to that date.

That's everything I've been up to this week. I'm going to get back to work on those last few demo changes, and I'll see you next time!
