Ducky's Delivery Service is available now on Nintendo Switch! And PC post-launch updates!
Hello, it's another busy week! First off, Ducky's Delivery Service is available now on Nintendo Switch!
Ducky's Delivery Service on Nintendo Switch
I had way too much fun playing Ducky's Delivery Service in handheld mode when I was developing it. Some of its biggest influences were handheld games on Nintendo consoles, such as Kuru Kuru Kururin, Balloon Kid, and Tingle's Balloon Fight DS, which is somehow the version of Balloon Fight that I've played the most. So to me, the game feels right at home on Nintendo Switch. I hope you like it too!
Thank you for supporting Ducky's Delivery Service!
I've been blown away by all the support and positive feedback I've received since Ducky's Delivery Service released on Steam and itch.io last week. Thank you all so much for playing it, reviewing it, streaming it and talking about it.
I've been having a great time reading about it on The Pixel Post (French) and Danbo's site, and watching it get streamed by Codechannel, Ryyudo, ComfyBasilisk, DigitalBasic, and lots of other streamers. As a small solo indie developer I don't have a lot of reach, so things like this make a huge difference. Thank you all again for the support!
I released a couple of updates for the game
A few days after Ducky's Delivery Service released on PC I released update v907, which fixes a hilarious scoring bug. You receive more bonus time every time you pick up a new package for the first time, so you could accumulate huge amounts of bonus time by quickly throwing packages into lava and picking up new ones:
I also released update v910 yesterday, which adds a couple of visual polish improvements. Your propeller now always rotates clockwise regardless of which way you're facing, and there's now a short (1 frame) animation when you turn around instead of your sprite just snapping from facing left to facing right:
I think it makes a big difference and I love how it looks in motion! That said, it looks real weird if you pause it on the frame when they're turning around, because some cartoon characters just don't look good when they're facing directly towards you:
It's like they're looking directly into my soul. But at least it looks good when you see it animated at full speed!
Anyway, that was my week! It's been real busy, but in a good way. Please continue to enjoy Ducky's Delivery Service, thank you for all your support, and have a fantastic weekend!
