Hello friends!

I hope you’ve been staying safe and cozy amidst the recent winter weather. For me it’s been a mixed bag of snow angels, whimsy...and twisting my ankle on an icy subway staircase. Yay winter! On the bright side, bulk 2 lb bags of Ghirardelli hot chocolate were recently 60% off (all my friends know I am serious about hot chocolate).

Drumroll for big good news (drumroll)...my album kickstarter met its goal! Y’ALL ARE AMAZING! My sophomore album Midwestern Goodbye is officially happening; I have recording days scheduled in February. Thank you thank you thank you :) I’ve been sharing countdown demos, voice memos, etc. of the album tracks on my Instagram to promote the campaign. You can check them out here if you want an album sneak-peek!

Now, there are still 2 (and a half) days left of the kickstarter campaign, so I’ve added some stretch goals! We’ve already met the stretch goal for physical CDs, and now we’re $75 away from the stretch goal of hiring a session harpist for the project. If we can hit that stretch goal, the next will be making merch shirts for the new album. The campaign will be open until 9AM the morning of February 1st!

Here’s a reminder of some of the reward tiers available until the 1st:

• Midwestern Goodbye CD pre-orders (this one’s a new addition!)

• Original song commissions (Valentine’s Day is coming up soon!)

• Session musician work on flute, keys, omnichord, and voice

• Small Talk merch (CDs, T-shirts, zines, and stickers)

• Midwestern Goodbye sticker packs

• Midwestern Goodbye digital downloads

• Cover requests

Thank you so much again for everyone who has pledged and shared so far!

Alright, time for me to trek through the snow slush to teach a piano lesson. Have you ever met a 6-year-old who knows every major, minor, diminished, and 7th chord by heart (including inversions)? I’m so impressed by these kids all the time.

Thank you all so much for everything!

xoxo,

Copeland
