🌈 Upcoming Hike at Labrador Hollow! 6/7 @ 3PM

CNY Hiking Hike at Labrador Hollow, Sunday June 7th at 3 PM.
Hike Location: Labrador Hollow Unique Area.
Location Address: Labrador Road, Tully, NY 13159.
Meetup Location: Labrador Hollow Trailhead.
Meetup Time: Sunday, June 7th at 3pm.
Join us on a hike through one of our favorite spots! We'll start with a stroll along the accessible boardwalk at Labrador Pond, then continue up to Tinker Falls with an optional more difficult trek.
Did you know that Labrador Hollow was the first "Unique Area" designated in NY, back in 1978? This glacial valley has steep walls that keep it shaded, creating cooler conditions with plant life more typical of Adirondack mountain bogs.
Park at the Lot off Labrador Crossroad.
Boardwalk loop is accessible at 0.5 mi.
Total length around 2.7 mi, elevation gain of almost 500 ft (estimate).
Tinker Falls has parking & is relatively accessible to the base of the falls.

Our first hike of Pride Month brings us to a familiar wetlands boardwalk at the edge of Labrador Pond, and a natural rock amphitheater waterfall nestled in a forest.

This area is very ecologically interesting... like many other places in CNY, all thanks to ancient glaciers. Everybody say thank you ancient glaciers 🙏

Carpooling:

If you need help getting to the trail or want to offer a ride, feel free to message us at contact@cnyhiking.lgbt or DM us on Instagram @cnyhiking and we’ll do our best to connect folks.

Accessibility & Notes:

Short flat trails with close-by parking make the points of interest accessible for all levels, with the option to take a more challenging path to the top of the falls, that specific route will be decided as a group!

The trail to Tinker Falls itself is easy to moderate level in length and elevation, well-maintained yet rustic, and this portion is also optional as Tinker Falls has a parking area.

Feel free to shoot us a message if you have any questions!

Hope to hike with you soon! 💚

Our Last Hike - Nature ID Walk at Private Land in LaFayette!

Some photos from our Nature ID Hike on Private Land in LaFayette

Grateful for warm sunny days, blue skies, and learning more about the life growing all around us 🌞

We want to say thanks to everyone who attended our nature ID hike in LaFayette, give a big thanks to the land owners Gerson and Jim for letting us explore their lovely property and being such wonderful hosts, and a huge thanks to CNY Hiker Mya for sharing her time and knowledge to make this event possible!

From windy meadow hills to quiet shaded forest, we got to see a huge variety of native, introduced, and edible plants, as well as some neat mushrooms and bugs (and cute dogs!! 🥺)
