We're back at Baltimore Woods for another Stewardship Work Day with the TREES crew! Putting in the work changes how you see a trail, because maintaining beautiful natural spaces sometimes requires a little elbow grease. Once you spend some time clearing invasive plants, you start noticing them everywhere... and you start to really appreciate how removing them makes room for native plants to thrive 🌱

Accessibility & Notes:

The walk from the pavilion to the worksite is about 10 minutes on the meadow and bluebird trails, mostly flat with a slight slope near the end. If it's rained recently, parts of the trail can be muddy. The worksite itself is off-trail on relatively flat ground with some uneven footing. This workday involves more physical effort than hand-pulling, expect to be using tools like shovels, loppers, or weed wrenches to clear invasive shrubs.

Our Last Event - Hike & Potluck at Buttermilk Falls

Big thanks to everyone who joined us Sunday for a trek around the upper Buttermilk Falls trails! It was a beautiful warm sunny day ☀️ so we really worked up an appetite for the potluck afterwards. Thank you to everyone who brought something tasty to share, and for all the wonderful conversation.

Also want to shout out Miranda for sharing her space, giving us a unique experience of a beautiful Ithaca state park, and being a wonderful host 💚
