Chronostasis 00000: RESURRECTION

We’re not quite dead, in fact we have a pretty strong pulse.
Chronostasis is a free event, dependent on the free movement of people and ideas; we got lucky again this time with a stellar lineup, so let’s celebrate while we can.
The critical information is that this edition is Friday, Sept 25 at the usual spot and at the usual time (8PM-midnight)—if you haven’t been before you’ll get the location from the RSVP which I heartily encourage you to fill out for capacity reasons regardless.
We are proud to present:

(Tide Pool/Kompakt)

Thor Kell used to write interesting Python code for a living, and make fairly generic, boggy progressive house for fun. He now writes fairly generic, boggy Python code for a living, and, perhaps, makes interesting music for fun — this show will be several timespans of FM bleeps driven by a hand-rolled JavaScript sequencer.
(He also once had a record on Kompakt that a lot of people played, but that was a long time ago. He's also not plants growing on top of concrete, but we do the best we can.)

Cougars Are Cats Too

Cougars Are Cats Too ( Katarina Höger 🇩🇪 / Katarina Hoeger 🇺🇸 ) is a flutist, live + creative coder, and intermedia artist. Her current favorite method of creating sounds in performances mixes sampling her flute with live coding. She generates visuals in performances by using live coding to manipulate code-augmented images. Katarina focuses her works on reminding the individuals in her audiences of their current worth as is, the importance of their presence, and their potential to create an impact through their presence as it is now.

(I am personally very excited to hear the track that was too spicy for https://dwebcamp.org/ — let’s see if we are so lucky)

faso

All I got was: “Faso is often described as a bipedal humanoid” and “My set will be a collection of aquatic themes spanning modern electronic to vintage library music and collage.” Mysterious!
(but seriously, despite their modesty Faso is a true head, expert crate/archive-digger, facilitator of listening sessions of their own, and will not disappoint—I highly suggest not missing this! I have a mental bingo card for this one…)

Way back when last year we said “We put the livecoders in a box and then didn’t hit record on the 360 cam, oops”, which turned out to be a BIG LIE! Here’s the full set recording (including several minutes of foul language at the beginning, tastefully edited):
