Sorry to hear about the unfortunate (is there ever a "fortunate"?) misstep and glad it wasn't worse. Not sure if the colonoscopy was a just-because-of-age thing or due to some other health reason but as a veteran of the back door peepshows (every 2 years for life now) I totally sympathize and though it's late for this particular bunghole spelunking adventure, my best advice is this; schedule that procedure for as EARLY in the morning as possible, do the crummy prep the day/night before and have someone who cares drive you there and back for the actual visit. I'm not sure if I'm missing something in your narrative but when you say you were on the "last day of" your prep, it should only require 24 hours which is for sure a gracious plenty but still enough to blow out the pipes! I'm about due for one and for sure I'll wait until I can get a 6 a.m. reservation, that way it really only seems like ONE lousy fucking day of that nonsense and then hopefully being back home to whimper like a baby by 9 or 10 the same morning (and maybe even eat something solid on the way home). Never fun, but yeah, it's not like it's something you can just ignore so congratulations, assuming you were able to keep your appointment even with a somewhat customized snoot.
