Through a community priorities survey, we asked residents and community members what issues matter most to them. One overarching theme emerged: Protecting Chinatown from displacement.
Three core issues rose to the top:
Keeping small businesses affordable
Protecting tenants and affordable housing without displacement
Creating more affordable spaces for nonprofits, co-ops, artists, and other community organizations
We’ve invited community experts to speak to these issues and share what’s at stake for Chinatown. Candidates will then have five minutes each to respond to the issues raised and share how they would address them.
