Cats Lock 2.0 is here!
Hi friends,
It's been a while since my last email, because I've had my head down building something I'm really proud of.
When I launched Cats Lock back in May, I was genuinely surprised by the reception, and every piece of feedback I received shaped where it went next. I spent the first few months making the lock airtight, from the built-in keyboard lock to Stealth Lock to all the edge cases you only find once real people (and real cats) use it every day.
Smart Detect followed a similar path, from a "coming soon" label, to a beta shaped by user feedback, to a feature that can tell human typing from cat-like typing and lock the keyboard on its own.
All of that led to Cats Lock 2.0, the biggest update yet. I started it back in early July and have worked on it nearly every day since. Today, it's finally here. Here's what's new:
- A full redesign, with a new app icon and a mascot, TucTuc (the nickname for my cat Tucker, the reason any of this exists)
- Smart Detect, officially out of beta
- Customizable lock screens, lock profiles, and custom sounds
- Optional trackpad control during Stealth Lock and built-in keyboard lock
- Available in seven languages, with the help of native speakers
I tried to focus on the things that can't be easily faked or auto-generated, Cats Lock is built with real craft and real polish.
If you already own Cats Lock, 2.0 is a free update in the App Store. Still a one-time purchase, still no subscription, and it still never reads a word you type. Also, if you haven't already, please leave us a review. A good word goes a long way.

Thank you for being here from the start.
