The era of Apple Silicon Macs have begun!

The new M1 chip introduced this week will be in three brand new Macs:
- Mac Book Air
- Mac Book Pro (13-inch)
- Mac Mini

The advantages according to Apple are the amount of performance per watt. What they translates to is a faster computer with a longer battery life. Whether the gains proposed in the event, we will know soon enough.
One of the ways, Apple makes these chips so powerful is by building a System-on-a-Chip or SOC. This means that everything which would on motherboard such RAM, Graphics, or Storage are laterally soldiered into the chip. In other words, this puts a complete end to expandable RAM. What has become apparent with the M1 chip specifically its limitation of 16 GB of memory on all three of these machine which many professionals are apprehensive about. It remains to be seen how much of a limitation that will be.
