Season 2 of Miscellaneous Materials continues. Going through all the stuff I collected in 2020 — but never sent!!! This is the 013th collection of semi-random documents known as “Miscellaneous Materials”
Current CO2 PPM: 415.10 PPM
MM013 is the collection that I collected in March of 2020. There is a tiny bit about covid, virtual teaching, different ideas of “waste,” and otherwise is a hodgepodge.
Miscellaneous Materials are coming fast and loose so far in 2021. I've got a lot of ground to make up, and I am trying to get these old collections into your hands, out of my way, to get back to the last couple of things I'm actually collecting in the present! So, expect 14-20 to be on their way with some frequency as well. Remember — I've not read most of this stuff; I collect it hoping to; but the reason for sending it out to all of you is that hopefully one of us does and gets the ideas out into the aether further!
I did a quick glance over the folder, there are some cool things here:
- ZeroWasteDesignGuidelines2017_Web.pdf > An amazing resource for thinking through waste; soooo good.
- stokness_what-we-think-about-global-warming.pdf > An excerpt from the book “What we think about when we try not to think about global warming” by Per Espen Stokness (Per is pronounded "Pear"). If you find this intriguing, I highly recommend the whole book (reading this excerpt I found made me buy the book, I haven't gotten back around to reading the rest yet though) — Per also gives a good ted talk... (oh! and while I linked to the book on amazon, please buy it from a local book store or something if you're interested in getting it... that's just to make sure you find the right book!).
- FairDevelopmentZeroWaste2.pdf > A plan for Baltimore to go Zero Waste... let's hope we can actually do some of this soon!
- 6 Lessons from Failing Svpply.zip > Ben Pieratt talks about what he learned running and then sort of losing Svpply. Fun to go through.
- And some other great PDF gems!
