Bizum, Spain's 26M-user payments app, gets an AI agent

One new deployment today, plus five platform reception/adoption updates from our ongoing vendor-watch rotation.

New launch

Bizum, Spain's bank-backed instant-payments app, rolls out a generative-AI customer service assistant

Spain's ubiquitous instant mobile-payment network, jointly owned by a consortium of ~20 major Spanish banks (including CaixaBank, Santander, and BBVA) with over 26 million users.

Bizum launched a generative-AI virtual assistant, developed by Telefónica Tech, integrated into Bizum's own website and its WhatsApp Business channel. It provides automated, natural-language responses around the clock to questions about transaction incidents, general product queries, and potential fraud/scams, using a scalable multi-agent orchestrated architecture and Bizum's own documentation as its knowledge base. Telefónica reports 90% response accuracy and a 30% reduction in email support contacts since rollout.

How to try it: Message Bizum's customer service via its WhatsApp Business channel or the live chat widget on the Bizum website.

  • Quiq expanded its AI agent platform with Voice AI in May 2026, unifying chat/SMS/voice/WhatsApp under one agentic system for enterprise CX teams — now used by 150+ global brands, moving from isolated pilots to full production. Sources: prnewswire.com, siliconangle.com
  • Dealer Inspire's generative-AI chat upgrade (Ana Bot), rolled out to all customers in June 2025, drove a pilot-measured 132% jump in website chat engagement and a 67.8% drop in escalations to dealership staff. Sources: carscommerce.inc, dealershipnews.com
  • Adobe's own data shows AI-referred traffic to US retail sites spiked 393% year-over-year in Q1 2026 and converts at a higher rate — good news for its Brand Concierge shopping-agent product — but independent coverage flags real friction: nearly 1 in 5 shoppers abandon AI shopping tools simply because they don't know how to phrase what they want. • Yellow.ai continues to show strong usage in enterprise case studies (a Sony India voice agent handled 21,000+ calls in two months; a Lulu Hypermarket chatbot handled 3M+ unique users in four weeks), but its own reported financials show growth has stalled — FY25 revenue was down about 1% from FY24. • Gubagoo, now used by 8,500+ car dealerships and roughly 90% of top North American dealer groups, was recently selected as part of Audi's US Digital Program — a notable OEM-level win for its OpenAI-built "Guba IQ" layer. Sources: autosuccessonline.com, autosuccessonline.com
