My Resilience Habit

Start where you are

When things feel overwhelming, it’s easy to believe you should already be further along.
More grounded.
More confident.
More on top of things.

But resilience doesn’t begin with fixing, figuring out, or rushing into action.

It begins with noticing where you actually are, right here, right now... and staying with that for a moment.

That simple act of awareness and acceptance is not a warm-up step.
It’s a critically important step. It gives you a steadier footing for whatever comes next.

Right now is where your footing is.
Even if it feels shaky, it’s enough to stand on.

Try this

Pause for a moment and quietly say to yourself:

“This is where I’m at right now. I can start from here.”

Not to lower the bar or give up; but to stop struggling with the moment you’re already in.

If you’re supporting someone else

This matters just as much when you’re with another person.

Confidence tends to return faster when people feel understood, not evaluated.

If it fits, you might say something like:

“I think you can handle this. You’ve done hard things before.
It looks like you’ve just momentarily lost your footing, and that’s OK.”

Helping someone start where they are often helps them find their balance again.

Until next week, take care.
