I hope you had a magnificent weekend!

Last Wednesday, I ran from Fort Lee to the Fair Lawn town council work session (13.2 miles!) as part of my marathon training. The mayor and council members seemed a little startled when I entered the conference room all sweaty and tired. I had emailed them earlier in the day and once I started speaking, I realized a few of them had read my email. The mayor and at least one council person seemed very interested in signing on to our letter AND updating their Complete Streets policy. The mayor said she wanted to look into it some more but seemed genuine.

Ridgefield’s town council meeting is tonight at 6:30 PM. It’s at the municipal complex, 700 Shaler Blvd., 0.4 miles up the road from where Serenity Law was killed by a hit and run driver last month. Here’s a recent article. I’m going to encourage the mayor and council to endorse our letter to the county and strongly consider forming a pedestrian safety advisory committee. I already emailed them two weeks ago. Please come if you can.
