Michelin-Starred SSAL Team to Open Monami, an Upscale Korean Steakhouse, on Upper Fillmore This Fall
Junsoo and Hyunyoung Bae are bringing a premium Korean barbecue concept to the long-vacant Noosh space at 2001 Fillmore Street, part of the neighborhood's ongoing Upper Fillmore Revitalization Project.
Pacific Heights is about to get one of its most anticipated restaurant openings in years. Monami, a new upscale Korean steakhouse from the owners of Michelin-starred SSAL on upper Polk Street, is targeting a fall 2026 opening at 2001 Fillmore Street — the former home of Noosh, which has sat vacant for close to two years. Owners Junsoo and Hyunyoung Bae announced the project in January and construction began in June after upstairs tenants at the building were asked to vacate.

Federal Lawsuit Over Marina Safeway Tower Advances: Court Served, City and PG&E Yet to Respond
A week after the federal suit was filed, the city attorney's office confirmed it would respond once formally served, while PG&E said it had not yet reviewed the complaint — leaving the 848-unit twin-tower project in legal limbo.
The federal lawsuit filed against the planned 848-unit residential development at 15 Marina Boulevard is moving into its first procedural phase, with defendants now being served and initial responses still pending. The suit, filed in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California by the YesAnd Foundation, Neighborhoods United San Francisco, and four Marina District residents, names developer Align Real Estate Partners, the city of San Francisco and its Planning and Public Health departments, PG&E, and Safeway parent company Albertsons.
