Happy September, ghosties! 👻

Our AGM is around the corner, and we’re looking for board members! Every seat is up for a vote on October 27, and we’d love you (yeah, you) to apply and have a say in the future of Baby Ghosts.

The commitment is four to six board meetings a year, active service on at least one committee; 5 to 10 hours a month all in. Fully remote – you can be anywhere. The seats are volunteer and unpaid. Being a director is a legal role with real duties attached, so we’ve written all of it down in detail here.

We are a freshly minted registered charity, so some skills we would really like to see: non-profit board governance, reading financial statements, fundraising, co-ops and worker-centred labour models, community organizing, conflict resolution, lived experience in games and media arts. Prior board experience is an asset and there’s plenty of room to learn without it. We especially want to hear from people the games sector has left out.

There’s one application form. Everyone who applies and meets the legal requirements goes to our members in the candidate information packet we send on October 1. There is no screening, shortlisting, or interviewing.
