violent spring

everything is alive.

spring is in full-effect, giving way to summer here for us in the south, which means a chaotic artery rupture of flora and fauna, of weather and time. let’s jump right into it:

poetry.

the book is coming along. a simple thing, just text and decorated pages. it’ll be my next big release - if you’re a poetry person, please give it a look! and please reach out and share your own work, i love connecting with others.

the poems are about spring and the burst of nature coming from the brief winter here at home. it’s also about love and grief and the chaos of yearning.

our last summer alive.

this one is still chugging along but it’s going to be a bit - though we knew that! it needs a lot of custom assets that will take time and care to build, and having learned my lesson from a baby fell from the sky, it will need a ton of advance printing. this might even be a next year project! but it’s still here. the good news is that, if you’re interested in oracle-based gameplay, i’ve got some great options on the pipeline!

un-named sticker game.

a solo journaling game about criminals hunting down androids and the resulting trouble it introduces into their lives, in a now outdated profession. you use stickers you find in the wild to tell your story, marking down dead androids with each new sticker you add to your ledger. i think of it, stylistically, as a companion piece to kdds, and it’s pretty much ready, i’m just taking it through a few rounds of playtesting to tweak.

i’m really enjoying this trend of mine of “i keep coming into contact with (whatever item) in my day to day life, how can i use it in a game?” and hope to continue exploring it.

un-named sci-fi oracle game.

here’s the game: each book is different, but it has the same information in it, aside from some oracles which are custom-made per book. you use the entire book to help guide your stories as you tell an anthology of citizens and their experience with The Glitch. it seeks to replicate the experience of sitting down with a real crunchy rulebook and, during play, reaching for it to flip through all the powers and rules for inspiration on what to do - except here, you’re flipping through for imagery or narrative positioning. the free flow of dreams.

i have a lot of writing to do regarding oracles and props and how and why we play as opposed to what we play. i wrote recently on bluesky an idea of taking or granting someone’s favorite props or materials to help instill or detract from bleed, or provide emotional context to what’s going on. i want to follow this idea.

the timeline of it all.

sticker game comes out, as it’s a quick one, then the poetry book, then the oracle game, then OLSA. new projects as they appear. i’m purposefully shelving new ideas until winter (unless they’re really good) so i can get a nice collection of pre-printed materials. as stated in the last newsletter, there’s one or two older projects i want to clean back up and give physical breath to, so you may see those come autumn.

remember also that all games are free and shipping is free (unless you’re international from me, in which case i need you to cover shipping). please share my work, send pictures, and definitely get paid for what you’re worth and for your time, but also remember that free, accessible art and strangeness has a much needed place in our lives these days, and maybe dedicate some time to giving a project some love just to see it spread. like a romantic virus.
