Brave New Capital: Companion to Adventure Finance
Information on the pre-sale for the companion to Adventure Finance.
Hi friend!
Hope you’ve had a good week. As you know, I paused the Intellimpact & Adventure Finance newsletters when I started the Innovative Finance Initiative, but I wanted to reach out today with some exciting news that I hope you’ll like!
After four years of work, my new book (Brave New Capital) is nearly ready. It's the follow-up to Adventure Finance, but where that book was about the instruments of innovative finance, this one is about the vehicles: the funds and structures that pioneers around the world are redesigning from the ground up. It profiles builders creating everything from Indigenous-led outcomes funds to steward-owned management companies to community ownership notes to funds with no carried interest at all. Erinch Sahan came on last year as co-author, and Kate Raworth is writing the foreword.
I'm sharing it with you because you care about using innovative finance to create impact for entrepreneurs, communities and the planet. My hope is that this book can share the stories of how this is possible, even in these troubling times.
Here's how you can help this story spread, if you are keen.
Pre-order it now. The pre-sale is live - we’ve sold almost 500 copies in the last few days:bravenewcapital.co. Every early order matters more than you might think, the level of demand will shape how far the book travels, we are planning to start re-approaching some of the mainstream publishers that weren’t interested in early stages of the process and the pre-sale numbers are the strongest marker of interest that we can get!
Share it. If it resonates, a repost, a note to your network, or a mention in your own newsletter would mean the world. I’ve built a little media pack here.
Join us for a conversation. As part of the launch, we are hosting an Oxford Webinar featuring three of the pioneers from the book on the 29th. Would love to have you there!
Thank you, as ever, for being part of this work.
Chat soon,
Aunnie
P.S. You won’t hear from me again for quite a long time (probably the next book?), so if you are keen to keep up with the latest in Innovative Finance (including a bunch of new tools coming out that build on Adventure Finance), I’d recommend signing up for the IFI newsletter. If you want to keep up to date with Brave New Capital, you can sign up for updates just for that on the book website.
P.P.S. Sorry if you already got this through IFI!
