[Oct 16] Mariona hamstring injury, Academy spared job cuts, Zubimendi injury explained, and more
The Bottom Line
Men: Arsenal's proposed 60 redundancies will not touch the academy, the women's setup, the community scheme or the coaching and performance teams, The Athletic reports. Merino says Zubimendi hurt his ankle in a challenge with him after the Leeds win. Arsenal go to Nottingham Forest on Sunday at 4.30pm, second on 12 points.
Women: Mariona Caldentey faces eight to 10 weeks out with a hamstring injury and Selina Cerci has had surgery on her knee. Slegers, two years in charge this week, says she sees light at the end of the tunnel.
Men
Academy, women's setup and community roles are outside Arsenal's 60 job cuts
The coaching staff, the men's and women's performance teams, the academy, the community operation, the Arsenal Foundation and security are all unaffected, with the consultation still running. The review behind it was carried out by Boston Consulting Group.

Merino told Cadena Ser that it was a freak accident in the session after the Leeds win, said Zubimendi is fine and backed him to recover quickly. Arteta has said the session was for players who got few minutes.

Ancelotti told UEFA that his players did not deserve the result after conceding three goals in five minutes, and called Arsenal one of the best teams in the world.
