September is all about the books

Dearly beloved FF&SS reader fam,

This month is a special edition, because it’s all about books. I have an announcement to make about my own books, and I want to feature two authors this month, since I didn’t make it in time to do my second book for August. Without further ado, here are the announcements and featured books.

A Special announcement

In the past few weeks, I’ve had dreams of traveling, with or without a guide dog, sometimes on a bus, and sometimes not making it to the bus stop. A few days ago, God showed me what these dreams mean.

I published both of my books wide through both Amazon and Draft2Digital, and I wasn’t getting any sales on either platform. However, God led me to put Praying Through the Seasons back on Kindle Unlimited and to place The Spirit of Creativity\ on KU for the first time after years of publishing it wide.

What this means for you is that if you haven’t read either of these books, and you subscribe to Kinde Unlimited, you can read both books fro absolutely free. But if you choose to buy them, you can do that too. For those of you who love to get your eBooks from libraries, don’t worry, I’ve got you covered as well. The only services I checked on Draft2Digital are the library services like overdrive, Hoopla and others, so feel free to request either book from your local library.

Featured books

Without further ado, here are the featured books for August and September.

August’s featured author

Louisiana author Karen Lopez writes uplifting inspirational fiction featuring resilient women, heartfelt romance, and journeys of faith. Whether historical or contemporary, her stories invite readers into worlds where courage, hope, and second chances can change everything.

Visit Karen’s website and subscribe to her newsletter while you’re there.

Karen’s featured book is entitled Letters from Kansas.

Letters from Kansas is an inspirational story set during one of the most heart wrenching times in American history.

You can purchase the book on Amazon at this link.

Karen also has a new book that came out last month entitled Letters from Tesxas, which is a novel set in WWII. Learn more and get your copy here.

September’s featured book

Vida Li Sik is a multi-genre author, wife, mother, and former award-winning journalist who brings real and imagined characters to life with humour, empathy, and insight. Born in sunny Nigel, South Africa, she now calls Johannesburg, the City of Gold, home with her family. By day, she’s a content creator; by night, an avid reader exploring stories that inspire her writing. Drawing from imagination, everyday life, and her deep Christian faith, Vida crafts tales celebrating hope, compassion, and human quirks. Though she has no pets, she continues hunting for a weird and wonderful hobby to spark creativity. Her stories invite readers into relatable, surprising, and unforgettable worlds—one story at a time.

Vida’s featured story is part of an anthology.

Our House on Sycamore Street is a multi-author, multi-genre series set in quaint and quirky Eden Cove, an English seaside  town with plenty of spirit.

If you love women’s fiction, you will enjoy The Outsider’s Welcome, a tale of
resilience, community, and a search for belonging. Learn more and pick up your copy on Amazon by visiting this link.

If you love any or all of the books featured this month, please share this newsletter with the avid readers in your life. You can also show the authors some love by leaving honest reviews on Amazon and/or Goodreads. Reviews help readers find new books. Until next time, happy reading and may God richly bless you.

Blessings,

Ann Harrison
