Is it Autumn Yet?

All of my kids are back in school, but we’re still waiting for fall temperatures. The current dry heat puts Northern California at risk for wildfires, so I hope we get rain soon.

Vague Publishing News

Are you familiar with the Writing Community expression “vague publishing tweet”? That’s what writers on Twitter would say when something exciting —a publishing contract, an offer from an agent, or even a film deal— was happening, but they couldn’t announce it yet.

Well, let’s just say that I’m in my “vague publishing” era. I have some good news that I can’t share, although I think many of my readers are going to like it. Can’t wait to tell you more!

“Ladies in Love”

Secrets at Selwyn Castle is once again free as part of Dragonblade’s “Ladies in Love” promotion. Until the end of August, you can find free books in a range of categories, from spicy romance to cozy historical mystery.

Pink heading at top says "Ladies in Love." At the bottom, smaller letters say "22 Free Books for a limited time 8/27-8/31). In the center are two book covers and the Dragonblade publishing logo.

Regency Dragons

Finally, I learned that Stephanie Burgis’ book Scales and Sensibility is currently on sale. This is the first book in her Regency dragons series, which may appeal to fans of Quenby Olson or Maria Grace. This historical fantasy romance series is closed-door and LBGTQIA+ affirming. The second book, Claws and Contrivances, features a diverse cast, including an autistic love interest. I recommend these books, and I’m hoping we don’t have to wait too long for the third one.

That’s all for now, Rollins Readers. Stay safe, keep reading, and support human authors, artists, and narrators!
