Wow. We're already into summer.

Got your swimsuit ready for a beach episode? Or perhaps taking in some fireworks at a festival? Maybe finally going to do a test of courage?

Wait. Those are things that happen in the summer in anime. But we got some real AnimeChicago summer fun in store for you.

Upcoming Events

• Our next Member Mixer is in-person on July 7th at Dovetail Brewery. Just in time to recover from the 4th of July weekend for even more celebration.

• Wanna avoid that late-July sun? The Summer 2022 Anime Sampler happens on July 23rd. Stay home and chat along with us as we check out all the fresh anime for the season.

Latest from AnimeChicago

• Thanks to everyone who joined our Anime Central meetups last month! We had a blast and can’t wait to see more of you all soon.

Beyond AnimeChicago

• Facets theater is screening Paprika, the final film of their Anime Auteurs series, next Thursday.

• Consider us pleasantly surprised. 2007's surreal Mononoke is getting a movie in 2023. Never thought that was possible, but we'll take it.

• Was the Amazon Video stream too small for the gorgeous Evangelion 3.0 + 1.0? Well, get ready for a theatrical run coming later this year thanks to GKIDS.

• Even more upcoming movie news, Naoka Yamada (K-ON, A Silent Voice)'s next project after Heike Story is a film titled Garden of Remembrance. Here's hoping it's anywhere as good as Liz and the Blue Bird.
