Another week done and don't forget it's valentines day tomorrow. It's been so cold this week that the sea has frozen in places. Hope you've kept warm and stayed upright on the ice if you have ventured out. Here are some links for you that might take your mind off things for a while.

Jo has been busy drawing (illustrating?) every day for 96 days and as promised you could win this entirely unique item. Long term readers will note that a link to to the work in progress has been posted before. This isn't a sponsored post but if you want to win you need to go to the JustGiving page for the details. I don't know anyone who hasn't been affected by cancer and would mean a huge amount to me if you clicked and threw some money at it. You only need to give £5 per raffle ticket. Be quick as the draw completes tomorrow. The fundraising is currently at £6,200 (as of writing) but would be great to nudge that up a bit. I really hope it hits 7k!

All metal since 1945
All metal that has been refined since 1945 is contaminated with trace amounts of radiation from atomic bombs. When we need really pure metals for radiation detectors, the only source is shipwrecks: Ancient Roman wrecks for lead ingots, the scuttled German Fleet of WWI for steel.
