Occasional links - 07.11.2020

Hello,

Some good news at last and finally some of the darkness lifts on 2020. Congratulations to Biden and Harris! So I've added more beer to the fridge and am busy RTing anything positive about the election I can. God this feels good. So here's a few link you may or may not have time for tonight as I'm sure you're celebrating in some way. Feels good doesn't it?! Yes it's politics... but it's important.

Kamala's laugh: a compilation
Just let this lovely laugh wash over you and soothe your Saturday evening.

Applause breaking out over the Manhattan skyline
An absolute delight.

15 Sean Connery movies to stream
Nice.

Man listens to Rage Against the Machine for first time
So good and strong angry teenager energy here.

A remarkable journey to photograph America

In 1955 Robert Frank embarked on a remarkable journey to photograph America. Over nine months he used 767 rolls of film to capture the essence of the country across 30 states. It became one of the most influential photographic series ever done.

The wheat field Agnes Denes planted in Manhattan
I've seen images of this pop up before and various references to it. Nice to be reminded of it and then find the original link.

Hashima Island or Gunkanjima, but not as a ruin
I have a beautiful photography book on this island as a ruin but so nice to see it as a lived in space. And yes more links to Irène's Twitter. She really is fabulous though.

Stormbird, Camberwell
A really lovely article about my favourite place in the whole world.

The best dog video you will see all week
I promise. Wait for it.

Boston City Hall renovation
The best brutalist refurb you'll see this week.

That's me for this week. Time for another beer!

Love as always,

Andy x
