Bettes in Berlin

In mid-June, Alphabettes Soup launched in Berlin with a lovely crowd at A—Z Presents. Thank you to Anja Lutz and all the authors and contributors who signed books and celebrated! What a crowd 💚

Alphabettes Take Manhattan

Towards the end of June, I presented “Care and Complexities: Recipes for Alphabettes Soup” at the always fantastic Typographics festival, hosted by Cooper Union. Missed it? That’s ok, watch here:

The next day, we headed west across Manhattan to the Type Directors Club headquarters to throw a party…for ourselves! And yes, there was a cake. A huge shoutout to all my co-conspirators (Joe Newton at the TDC, and ECS especially!) and to all the authors, contributors, and friends who showed up. My heart was very full ❤️

CDMX y Alphabettes!

At the end of August, Alphabettes Soup traveled to México City for a launch event at the very awesome Zamme Projects. Authors Sandra Morales, Sandra Garcia, and Daphne Martínez shared their work and articles and were joined by Soup-featured type designers and contributors. Thank you Meaghan and Sandras and Daphne for the photos 🖤

Bettes, Boston, Birthday.

On our official 11th birthday (September 10th!), we joined forces with Jesse Ragan and co-celebrated Alphabettes Soup with XYZ Type’s recent book, Identity Is Variable: Essays, Interviews, & Reflections on Identity and Typography at the delightful Katherine Small Gallery in Somerville, MA (if you’ve not been, you must!). We were joined by authors Dina Benbrahim and Dyana Weissman who helped share the soup with the Boston design community, including students and some folks you might have heard of. Happy 11th Birthday, Alphabettes 💙
