Hi!
Long time no see :)
Thank you for subscribing to my newsletter! Here is a little (?) update on some of what has been going on since this spring. I have been mostly busy working on freelance projects but still have a few news to share :)
First, our ongoing collaboration with the UK-based music artist GLOR1A, SWARM! This project is a multiplayer interactive live streamed music game we premiered at Rewire 2020, which has been evolving since. More information about it all is on our website : https://swarm.nok.baby
Over the past year we recorded new sets of volumetric performances in London (in collaboration with Pxssy Palace), New York, and Tokyo (in collaboration with Chorareii, to be featured in a new series of livestreams beginning of 2023. We have a delicious selection of queer and groundbreaking artists for you so... Don't forget to subscribe to our twitch channel and don't hesitate to signal boost! ;) we put a lot of our time, energy and resources to make this happend π this is going to be π₯π₯π₯
The third episode of SWARM is currently being exhibited in Dortmund until January. You can visit Neun Sonnen to play it or head directly to our website to play it in your browser : https://swarm.nok.baby/play/orun-rere/
As some of you might know, NSDOS and I worked a few years ago on a real-time live-AV set directly controlled by MIDI signals. You can watch a video of it right here!
This year we updated our set to receive input from custom motion sensors, allowing us to drive visuals and audio directly through movement and dancing. It premiered at Mutek Montreal this year and will also be at Mutek Tokyo on the 10th of December.
Thanks to the art games collective Fantasia Malware for inviting me to design a set of posters for a series of Berlin-Based events, Fantasia Malware Presents β¨ The events featured video game art and performances, from some sick developers/artists such as Studio Oleomingus, Jeremy Couillard, Halber Ball, and of course Fantasia Malware members themselves, Jira, ChloΓͺ and Gabriel. If you are curious, some members of Fantasia Malware used to be part of the collective AAA software which published several experimental games and hosted events in Berlin, which were very formative for me when starting out on my own path of making video game art.
