work

I'm going on vacation for the next two weeks! So, most of this week is getting as much of my work and my students in a state that I can leave it for a little bit. I mostly managed to get that done, but there definitely are a few outstanding issues that might nag me while I'm away. Fortunately, I finished a full draft of the DSO report that's due less than a week after I get back from vacation. So, as long as that doesn't require too many edits, then I should be alright. There are other projects which I would like to keep working on, including some especially great ideas from my collaborators recently. There are also a few papers that I want to start revising for possible Eurocrypt submission.

My goal for now is hold off on all of this and try to really enjoy my vacation though. :-)

non-work

This week was very focused on writing the DSO report both during and outside of normal work hours. But, that being said, I was still able to carve out the time to play a few games and talk with some friends. I finished Outer Wilds last weekend, which is a pretty cool game! I don't think it perfectly fits into my ideal puzzle-exploration game, but it was still an interesting ending. I don't know if I'll play the DLC or not, but I'm excited to at least talk about the base game with some of my friends at the wedding this weekend. I played some Slay the Spire 2 with my friends this week too, and am still enjoying and making slow progress in that game. I'm the worst among my friend group, but I'm sure I'll get better with time.

• Could one use ZK ideas to submit a proof of a version history when turning in something like an essay?
  • This would require a trusted editor, but it might be plausible if something like Word or Overleaf implemented it.
  • I read revealing version history with a document as a proposed anti-AI cheating solution. It would serve as a "proof of work" of sorts, but I think a lot of people don't like the surveillance of giving up a whole version history
  • What is the type of predicate that one would try and prove about a human vs AI-written version history?
• Has any implemented a candidate post-quantum secure ABE scheme?
  • I've search a lot for more practical lattice-based ABE, but I'll have been able to find are highly theoretically like Wee25
  • Is there at least like a simple policy that one could practically implement?
