I've been on vacation. :-)

There is actually some email I've been answering, and I have been watching the eprint feed (very interesting recent papers!). Mostly though, I've managed to think little about cryptography, which has been very refreshing.

Vacation itself has been fun! My friends had a beautiful wedding in Ireland this week, and my partner and I were fortunate enough to be able to attend. It was the first time either of us had been to Ireland. We had a really great time because the locals and venue were so kind and accommodating. The long flight and festivities took a lot out of us though.

Fortunately, we still made our flight to Amsterdam after the wedding for another first-visit. The city here is amazing. I've been endlessly impressed with the transit and road infrastructure. I don't know if our cities are flat enough to replicate it, but it would amazing if there were a city like this in the US. While here, we went to some museums, took a day trip to the Hague, ride the canals, learn about the Frank family, and were able to try great Indonesian and Nepali food. Reflecting, it's hard to even remember all that we got done while we were here.

Later today, we're flying to Rome and will stay there for a few days. :-)

• How much to people care about secure MPC with classical communication but quantum preprocessing/entanglement?
  • It seems like it could be useful to work on a quantum state and then teleport it to someone else for distributed computation.
  • This comes out of a new project with a few really interesting new questions
