The Fog Beckons you

Ahoy dear friends!

The next Airhorn comes soon. This one, like all our Airhorns, is gonna be special and huge but in a completely new way. It’s so different it’s not even called Airhorn. I am talking, of course, of

FOGHORN

Foghorn poster, showing a misty lighthouse at the edge of a crag, with all the performers listed in a beautiful serif font. these performers are listed later in this email.

What is Foghorn? That is a big question, one I plan to answer in these next few weeks in a series of emails that, ideally, build up excitement and understanding of the show but also exist, in their own right, as individual works of art. (That's the plan at least.)

Foghorn is a nautical adventure, an alt comedy extravaganza that is also a heart-rending theatre piece. It is a play on plays, an immersive and waterlogged comedy theatre experience. It is a combination of an oyster's pearl, a letter washed ashore in a bottle, a series of knots, and a beautiful idyllic scene done in scrimshaw. And also...it gonna be funny as hell?!

It is the story of an island, untethered to place or time, floating adrift in an unnamed ocean. An island that is surrounded by fog, a fog as thick as pea soup and holding strange, magical properties. And on this island is a town, and a people, who both come from all over and have been here their whole life. They lead liminal lives adrift in their unknown sea with the fog seeping into their hearts and memories. Once a year the fog thins and another world can faintly be felt, laughter from beyond can be heard, and the village people celebrate this with the biggest show they can muster. A show that y'all get to see.

What does it MEAN?! You gotta come to Newtown on 17 April to see!

Airhorn is nothing if not ambitious and this is our most ambitious night yet. It is also aiming to be our most generous, and fun, and ironic, and heartfelt. Can we do it all? I think we can, but no matter, we have to try. Goddammit, we have to try!

Foghorn will be filled with your regular loves like Alayne Dick, Booth the Clown, Ginge & Minge, Jak Darling, Lesa MacLeod-Whiting, Lily Catastrophe, and Zach Mandeville.

Plus returning favourites Jerome Chandrahasen and Oliver Pol.

PLUS the Airhorn debut of the incredible Mo Munn!

And...there might even be enchiladas?

What does that mean! Lean into the mystery! Enjoy the shapes forming in the mist, moving shapes, moving like friends that are singing and dancing and laughing for you! They are putting on a show for you!

BUY yr tickets now and come have a good time

And if you can't wait until the 17th, here's a good video to tide you over until the show begins:
