Anthropic launches Claude for Legal with 20+ MCP connectors

Anthropic rolled out Claude for Legal, pairing more than 20 new MCP connectors to systems like iManage, NetDocuments, LexisNexis, DocuSign and Ironclad with 12 practice-area plugins covering M&A, litigation, IP, employment and AI governance. Thomson Reuters is rebuilding its CoCounsel product on Anthropic models, and the bundle is available to all paying Claude customers.

Why it matters

It is the clearest signal yet that frontier labs are shifting from horizontal chat assistants to vertical AI infrastructure, and it puts Anthropic directly inside the workflows of Big Law and corporate legal departments.
