Hod is Majesty, Splendor, and Glory, the coagulating principle where astral forms take shape and submit to environmental influence. It sits at the foot of the Pillar of Severity and governs learning and rigor. The Eighth Path is called the Absolute or Perfect Intelligence because it is the mean of the Primordial, which has no root by which it can cleave or rest save in the hidden places of Gedulah, from which emanates its proper essence as a force for distinguishment. Hod is Mercurial and expresses where form is given by language. Its magical image is a hermaphrodite, the Rebis being of melding opposites. Hod's virtue is Truthfulness, its vice Falsehood and Dishonesty. It owes association to Archangel Michael, Hermes, and Hanuman. Its correspondence in the microcosm is the loins and legs. Where Netzach instinctively feels, Hod thinks and articulates, exercising the mind's power to name, categorize, and transmit knowledge.

WORLD: Yetzirah ~ Formation · The Formative World · Air. The realm of formation, where the blueprints of Beri'ah are assembled into specific astral forms. It is the domain of vision, imagination, and the astral light. It corresponds to the element of Air and the Prince Scale of color.
