Hello misfits and merry makers,

I know it’s been a while. I have been traveling a bit. Before I left I was building panels for a new series of paintings. Working on panels always gets me in a reflective mood. I start to see what I want to make as I build them and prepare the surface. Lots of sawing, sanding and sweeping up sawdust gets my mind in a meditative place. By the time I am done I will have at least 15 new panels to paint on!

I have also been busy setting up my Patreon page. I tossed around ideas and asked some folks their opinion. I am creating stickers from my 50-50 painting series to start. Hummingbird members will receive a set of curated stickers each month and a little information insert about the work.

In short, I am combining my love of stickers, my obsession with the post office and sending happy things through the mail. I love getting little surprises through the mail. I hope I can bring you some joy in this way.

Art Date: Chiara Shioto. This show at the Asian Art Museum is coming down at the end of July. I am definitely going to check it out.

Inspiration: All the craft folks and creators. There is a lot of destruction these days. The world needs creative energy to counter it.
