Build better.

Drawing and painting keep me alive.

WIP: watercolor on wood

Hello fellow travelers,

It’s been a bit as I have been ramping up production of wood panels to paint on and getting the word out about my Patreon page. I have an aversion to marketing and selling but this feels a little different. I am excited about sharing past and present work and finding the threads that connect. That is the direction that I see for the Post Pals project.

The first sets of stickers will be from my 50-50 series when I worked on small 6×6 inch paintings each day for 50 days in the summer of 2015. It feels like a whole other world away compared to now. That project got me familiar with watercolors and the time constraint kept things fresh. The theme I chose was “Stop and Look, the World We Build.” I focused on the structures and systems we humans put in place and what we surround ourselves with that I sourced from quick snapshots throughout my day.

The work sold quickly and I am picking works to make into stickers that I wish I had a little more time with.

Lately, it seems like everything is on fire, literally. Urgent situations around the globe are constantly bubbling up to the top. It’s important to pay attention but it can be overwhelming.

Art can be a refuge, a moment to rest your eyes and breathe. Take a little time for yourself and breathe in the beauty when you can. We will need the energy and mindset to build things better.

We are all in this together and I am happy you are here.

More soon friends,

Zoe
