I hope this newsletter finds you well.

Here it is, the last day of May^*, and I hadda put the heat on again last night because it was down to 55F in this house. I’m not complaining. I like a chilly day.

I hope y’all appreciate how much internet crate-digging I did to get you that link, which means I’m not sending you to youtube. You’re welcome. It’s a pretty decent recording, considering it’s in a pizza parlor in Rochester, NY in 1972.

I effin’ love Blue Öyster Cult. It turns out many bands like them, too, because in the Archive.org search I did for the band, a bunch of live covers came up. Seems like everyone wants to cover “Reaper.” Can you blame them?

Anyway, here’s a cute photograph:

When I’m sitting at my desk at home, sooner or later (sometimes within five minutes of me sitting there), DJ Fleafella will hop up on my desk. He’ll nuzzle my forearm with his nose, knead my bicep with his paws, then plop down partway on the desk and partway on my stomach so I’m cradling him like a baby (see above). And then he’ll purr. Usually he’ll fall asleep. It’s awfully sweet. It’s also my cue to take a break and hug and pet him.

Unfortunately he cannot do that while I’m on the air because I don’t allow him to climb onto the console or sit on the mixer. I know. I’m so cruel. He did hop up on the lid of the home-stereo turntable this morning, luckily while it was off, so maybe he just wants to spin some records.
